Benji Gregory: A Short-Lived yet Brilliant Hollywood Star

Born Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg in Los Angeles, California, on May 26, 1978, Benji Gregory enthralled audiences as a beloved kid performer. Gregory’s portrayal as the youngest Tanner family member, Brian Tanner, on the cherished sitcom “ALF” (1986–1990), is his most well-known performance. It had a lasting impression on television history.

Gregory’s career as an actor appeared to be destined as his family had a strong presence in the entertainment business. His career in acting started early because his mother was a talent agent and his father was an experienced actor. He was landing guest spots on TV shows and making appearances in advertisements by the time he was five years old. His big break came with the television series “ALF,” which followed a wise-cracking extraterrestrial who lived with a typical American family. Gregory received a lot of praise for his charming performance and was nominated for a Young Artist Award.

After “ALF” concluded, Gregory decided to give acting a break, despite his early success. In the early 2000s, he decided to take a different route and enlisted in the US Navy. Regretfully, on February 27, 2021, Gregory passed away at the age of 42, ending his life. For those who had grown up watching him on film, his sudden death was a great loss.
